Terms
Last updated June 2026
These terms cover the Henday Appliance Repair membership plan: how it starts, how it renews, what it covers, and how either of us can end it. By enrolling in a plan you agree to them. If you have a question, call us at (587) 727-1149 or use our contact page.
Your membership plan begins 10 days after you enroll, a date we call your Coverage Date, and it runs for one year from there.
To keep things simple, your plan renews each year on the anniversary of your Coverage Date. If you do not want it to renew, let us know before that anniversary date. We will also tell you ahead of time if we decide not to renew it.
You can pay in one lump sum or by installments. Applicable taxes, including GST, are added to each bill.
We bill in advance of the period a payment covers, and amounts are due by the date shown on the bill. Overdue amounts are charged interest at 1.5% per month, which is 18% per year and an effective rate of 19.56%.
We may change these terms, including the price, by giving you notice between 30 and 90 days before your anniversary date. Any change takes effect on that anniversary date.
We can cancel or discontinue your plan at any time. If you paid a lump sum, we refund the unused part on a pro-rata basis, and we still finish any covered repair you told us about before the cancellation.
If you pay by installments and cancel before your anniversary date, or if we cancel because you did not meet your obligations, the remaining installments for that year are still due. To cancel, call us at (587) 727-1149.
If you cancel within the first 10 days and have had no service in that time, we refund what you paid. If you have already used the service, we refund your payments but bill you for the work we provided.
The same applies if a technician finds your appliance is not eligible for coverage and no work has been done yet.
If you move within our service area, you can transfer your plan to your new home. We close the plan at the old address and bill any remaining installments, then apply that amount as a credit on your first bill at the new address, where a fresh one-year plan begins.
Please call us at least 30 days before you move so we can set this up. If you move outside our service area, or choose not to transfer, any remaining installments are still due.
We diagnose and repair an appliance under your plan as long as it sits within the permanent foundation of your home, was properly installed and working on your Coverage Date, is safe and sanitary to work around, and our technician can reach it safely and easily.
Your plan is for home use, not commercial or other non-residential use. It does not cover faults that existed before the plan started, or problems caused by misuse, tampering, work by someone other than us, accidental or deliberate damage, theft, freezing, fire, flooding, storms, or similar events.
It also does not cover issues from a wrong thermostat setting, a blown fuse or breaker, the wrong size of appliance for the job, renovation work, or a lack of basic maintenance. Coupon codes do not apply to plan repairs or installation, and the plan discount is for repairs only, not installation.
We look for the right part, or a suitable substitute, as quickly as we reasonably can, though some parts take longer to source. If a part is no longer available, or we cannot get it at a sensible cost, we are not responsible for replacing the appliance, and either of us can end the plan.
We try to diagnose and fix the problem on the first visit, but that is not always possible, and we are not liable for losses or delays that come from diagnosis. If we do not fix a covered problem, or a part we installed fails, our responsibility is to put it right and, if needed, supply another part.
We are not liable for indirect or knock-on losses, and we do not cover defects that fall under a manufacturer recall, an in-home warranty, or a maker reimbursement program. Nothing here removes rights you have under Alberta law.
Our technician will not enter or work in a home that is unsafe or unsanitary, or where animals, insects, or hard-to-reach spots such as a crawl space or attic make the appliance unsafe to access. If that happens, we may treat the appliance as ineligible and end the plan.
We collect personal information to set up and manage your plan, and we handle it under our privacy policy. We do not knowingly share it with others except where we need to in order to run your plan, such as with our technicians, service providers, or a credit or collections agency, or where the law requires it.
We may record calls for the purposes set out in our privacy policy. You can opt out of marketing messages at any time by calling us at (587) 727-1149.
These terms, together with your enrollment form and any welcome or renewal letter, are the whole agreement between us, and if anything conflicts, these terms take priority. We may pass our rights and duties under the plan to another party, and you need our written consent to pass yours.
We are not responsible for delays caused by events beyond our control. We can reach you by mail or phone, so please keep your contact details current. These terms are governed by the laws of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada.
